2025 Adelaide Independent Film Festival (18 October)
Welcome in the warmth of spring and join us at the Adelaide Independent Film Festival (AIFF) for an afternoon of incredible short films presented at the uniquely designed and heritage-listed Capri Theatre! For the first time, we’ve added a second date to accommodate the overwhelming number of high-quality short films this year.
The official programme comprises over twenty-five short films from ten countries, with seventeen to be screened exclusively at the Capri Theatre. This section of the programme features two contenders for the 2026 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards, alongside ten South Australian premieres, two world premieres, and one Australian premiere.
To add extra flavour to the mix, you’ll hear the Capri Theatre’s beating heart - their Wurlitzer Theatre organ - play before the official selection.
Complimentary canapé offerings will be available during intermission courtesy of our friends at Good Gilbert and Asha.
The AIFF’s Audience Award returns, empowering you to choose your favourite film from the afternoon's lineup.
Hear from several filmmakers from the programme as they answer your burning questions on stage.
After the awards presentation, join us in the foyer for a celebratory drink with the filmmakers. We'd love to know which short film was your favourite!
Thank you for supporting the AIFF. We hope you have a wonderful experience at our festival.

“This year’s programme is bigger than we anticipated, featuring twenty-eight films from ten countries, many of which have screened at prestigious film festivals like CinéfestOZ, Flickerfest, and the St Kilda Film Festival. I encourage you all to join us for two memorable nights, immersing yourselves in the extraordinary worlds crafted by these talented filmmakers.” - Tom Kerby, AIFF Director
