Torbreck Cellar Door Map
Fri 6 May
From $180.00

Delve into the beautifully complex world of Torbreck RunRig through this intimate Barossa masterclass. You’ll explore the rare 2012 RunRig and the six sources of shiraz used to blend it.
This lauded wine – often compared with syrah from France’s Côte Rôtie – was named for the runrig system used by Scottish Highland clans to distribute land among clansmen in a series of widely dispersed holdings. The emphasis was not on any one farm but rather the communal element of the whole land.
Torbreck RunRig is an assemblage of shiraz from six old, dry-grown Barossa vineyards, each bringing their own unique characteristic to the blend. After assemblage it is blended with viognier, complementing the strengths and complexities of these individual parcels of fruit while giving the wine a further dimension.
In 2012, a small portion of Torbreck’s six individual vineyards were bottled separately before blending. Now – almost 10 years later – this tasting is a rare public opportunity to taste and witness how these single vineyard wines have evolved, and to compare them to the blended 2012 RunRig.
Hosted by Torbreck's winemakers in an intimate masterclass setting at the Torbreck Cellar Door, sip on rare wines accompanied by local Barossa cheeses.
