Selena: A Tribute, by Lorena Salavarrieta
This tribute is a show honouring Selena Quintanilla, performed by Lorena Salavarrieta: a Colombian-Australian artist with a passionate taste for Mexican music, who wants to bring back her memories with the biggest hits Selena played before her untimely death. Selena was a singer-songwriter, known as the queen of Tex Mex music and Cumbia. She was one of the outstanding exponents of these genres, and of Latin musical in general, and a singer who changed paradigms in music, and won over crowds in a genre dominated by men. Selena, known as the Madonna Tejana, is considered one of the most influential artists of the 90s and is credited with bringing Latin music to the international market. Don’t miss this single performance, with Lorena Salavarrieta joined by Lazaro Numa, Juan Muñoz, and more.
